Protecting WordPress Posts & Pages

I am considering moving over to DAP from amember but there is one small thing DAP must do for this to happen. I need for DAP to use tags so I can protect just a part of a post or page from members that are not allowed.

Example, on my site http://expostop.com if you click on any video you are taken to the post, this single post is split with a more tag, the protect part is at the top and the none protected at the bottom. This is done by using 3 tags [protect=product#] what I want to hide, [else] what is shown if visitor does not have access, [/protect] closes the loop.

Does DAP have the ablity to protect parts of posts or pages this way? If not is it on the list and when could we expect it?

We’re working on a DAP ShortCode Framework that will allow you to do exactly that. It should be out in a few weeks, as part of v4.0.

If I protect a page on my blog that is a parent page, are all of my child pages protected as well? Is there a special way to do it?

I can answer that. The answer is no. You will have to protect each page.

Can we automatically protect posts in WordPress without adding each URL in the ContentResponder?

Yes, you can do this using Category protection.

Just protect the category permalink once, and then all future posts assigned to it will automatically be protected – you never have to visit the ContentResponder tab again.

For some reason new content isn’t being added to “Available Content” on the ContentResponder page. There is a work around by manually adding each URL – but is there any reason why new content isn’t being added?

I’ve just installed DAP in the root folder of my wp site and I try to protect the pages. Now, when I go to products&levels/manage and I click the tab Content Responder, I had expect to see the list with all my available pages in the left box, so I could copy them over to the right column. But I cannot see any of my pages there. I cannot see anything in the documentation about what goes wrong. What do I do wrong?

Is there anyway to protect menu links for certain subscriptions? this is how I have my site setup now and how I would prefer to leave setup as far as how users access products.

Hi Ryan,

Can’t do it for certain subscriptions but you can do it site wide.

Please go to DAP Setup -> Config -> WordPress Related -> Show protected (and not-dripped-yet) links in menu? to “NO”.

The protected items will only show up in the menu if the users have access to it.

If I change the site’s permalink structure, will I have to re-protect all of the individual posts currently protected? I know I could just test it and see but I’m wary of having to re-protect hundreds of hand-picked posts.

Is there a way to order your posts as mine run through in a sequence. Adding them to the protected area jumbles them up.. I did see somewhere whether to do it by date or latest first but I cannot find that now.
