GDPR Compliance Deadline - May 25th, 2018
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is the European Union’s new data privacy law.
When it takes effect on May 25th, 2018, it’ll impact how companies (small & big) collect and handle personal data from their customers in Europe.
GDPR will have profound implications not just for businesses operating in the EU, but any that hold data on EU citizens.
Companies in breach of GDPR could face severe fines, and with an implementation date of 25 May 2018, not much time is left.
We're doing whatever we can to help you prepare for GDPR compliance.
We've started working on multiple updates in SmartPayCart.com (SPC) / DigitalAccessPass.com (DAP) to help you comply with the GDPR policies.
This is the first in the series of GDPR releases that will help you prepare for GDPR compliance.
It's critical that you watch the short video above to understand the changes you need to make to be GDPR ready by May 25th, 2018!
Even if you don't use SPC, I still encourage you to watch this video so you can see what we're doing to help our customers prepare for GDPR. And you may want to make sure that whatever shopping cart platform you use, is also ready to deal with GDPR protections laws as well!
Upgrade Instructions
You need to be on SmartPayCart.com (SPC) version 3.1 to use the new GDPR features mentioned in the video.
To upgrade:
1. Visit WP Admin >> Plugins >> Find SmartPayCart and click on the auto-update button to complete the upgrade.
IMPORTANT: After you upgrade, just de-activate and re-activate SPC once for the new database changes to take affect.
2. If you don't find the update link in WP admin >> plugins >> SmartPayCart section, just download v3.1 from your members area on WickedCoolPlugins.com site. And then in WP admin >> Plugins >> find and delete SmartPayCart (it won't affect your settings), and then install the newly download version and activate it.
If you are a DAP platinum member and need help, please open a support ticket and we'll help you with the SPC upgrade.

When you run an online business, securing your website should be at the very top of your priority list. While no site is 100% safe from intrusions, there are a few preventive measures you can take in order to minimize the risk of your site getting hacked.
I've put together a FREE Video Series to help you protect your site and recover if it's hacked. If you've not signed up yet, I highly encourage you to do so as this series won't be free for long.
