Starting DAP v4.4, you can notify your affiliates with an automated instant email when they earn a commission for a lead and a sale.
In DAP > Setup > Config > (Affiliate Module) you can separately configure which emails to send (Lead, Sale):
And then on DAP > Setup > Templates page, you can configure the Subject and Body for both emails.
I have the templates set for this function and have the toggle set to “yes” in the site config – but when testing using “dummy affiliates” – the emails aren’t being sent out to notify my affiliate of a new lead.

1) After you make any changes to config (unless you’re doing the testing in the same browser where you are logged in as DAP admin, which is not recommended) assuming you are doing it in a different browser, then you must visit the log out link (YourSite.com/dap/logout.php) so that your config changes can reload. And then do the test.
2) Make sure the test itself is a clean test.
